{"id":6479,"date":"2014-10-31T18:18:50","date_gmt":"2014-11-01T00:18:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jasonbennion.com\/?p=6479"},"modified":"2014-10-31T18:18:50","modified_gmt":"2014-11-01T00:18:50","slug":"friday-evening-videos-halloween-edition-crazy-in-the-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jasonbennion.com\/index.php\/2014\/10\/31\/friday-evening-videos-halloween-edition-crazy-in-the-night\/","title":{"rendered":"Friday Evening Videos (Halloween Edition): &#8220;Crazy in the Night&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The gravel-voiced singer-songwriter Kim Carnes is best known for her monster number-one hit from 1981, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/EPOIS5taqA8\">Bette Davis Eyes<\/a>&#8221; (the biggest song of that year and, to my mind, one of the few genuinely timeless classics from that decade<em><\/em>), as well as, to a lesser extent, her duet with Kenny Rogers from the year before, &#8220;Don&#8217;t Fall in Love with a Dreamer.&#8221; But in honor of tonight being All Hallow&#8217;s Eve, I thought I&#8217;d share another song of hers that I&#8217;ve always quite liked, a little exercise in paranoia and afraid-of-the-dark anxiety (that also has a really catchy synth line) called &#8220;Crazy in the Night.&#8221; The first single from her 1985 album <em>Barking at Airplanes<\/em>, the song reached number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100, but was sadly the last time Kim would ever break the top 40.<\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"725\" height=\"544\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RVhJwrWJNm0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve got no particular memories or associations with this one, I just like it.
