{"id":606,"date":"2006-07-06T12:00:49","date_gmt":"2006-07-06T12:00:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jasonbennion.com\/?p=606"},"modified":"2006-07-06T12:00:49","modified_gmt":"2006-07-06T12:00:49","slug":"check_out_rob_zombies_place","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jasonbennion.com\/index.php\/2006\/07\/06\/check_out_rob_zombies_place\/","title":{"rendered":"Check Out Rob Zombie&#8217;s Place"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve recently discovered the highly entertaining <A href=\"http:\/\/secretfunspot.blogspot.com\/\">Secret Fun Blog<\/a>, an offshoot of a Web site called the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.secretfunspot.com\/\">Secret Fun Spot<\/a>; both are dedicated to all the weird and wacky toys, ephemera, and retro crap that strange, overgrown kids like me love.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/secretfunspot.blogspot.com\/2006\/07\/lair-of-zombie.html\">Yesterday&#8217;s entry<\/a> on the Fun Blog is particularly interesting: It features a number of screen grabs from an episode of <i>MTV Cribs<\/i> that showcased the enviable home of heavy metal\/industrial musician <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rob_Zombie\">Rob Zombie<\/a>. Why is that interesting to me? Well, Zombie is an afficianado of old horror films, you see, and his house is a treasure trove of collectibles; while my own collecting tastes run more toward science fiction, I definitely identify with his general aesthetic. I especially liked the <a href=\"http:\/\/photos1.blogger.com\/blogger\/3359\/2547\/400\/zomb6.jpg\">pirate bar<\/a>, the built-in, floor-to-ceiling <a href=\"http:\/\/photos1.blogger.com\/blogger\/3359\/2547\/400\/zomb16.jpg\">curio cabinets full of toys<\/a>, and the walk-in <a href=\"http:\/\/photos1.blogger.com\/blogger\/3359\/2547\/400\/zomb12.jpg\">video library<\/a>.
