{"id":578,"date":"2006-06-05T14:52:12","date_gmt":"2006-06-05T14:52:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jasonbennion.com\/?p=578"},"modified":"2006-06-05T14:52:12","modified_gmt":"2006-06-05T14:52:12","slug":"the_bennion_scriptorium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jasonbennion.com\/index.php\/2006\/06\/05\/the_bennion_scriptorium\/","title":{"rendered":"The Bennion Scriptorium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a comment on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbennion.com\/2006\/06\/the_view_from_my_window.html\">previous entry<\/a>, Cranky Robert asked if all you folks out there in InternetLand &#8220;could get a shot of the newly refurbished Bennion Scriptorium.&#8221; Well, it just so happens that I have such a shot handy at the moment:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbennion.com\/images\/home-office_interior.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"The Bennion Scriptorium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbennion.com\/images\/home-office_interior-thumb.JPG\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As usual, click the photo to make it larger. To explain the &#8220;newly refurbished&#8221; remark, I&#8217;ve just finished a fairly extensive remodeling project to turn my parents&#8217; old bedroom &#8212; yes, I still live in the house where I grew up &#8212; into a respectable home office for myself. I tore up a layer of 40-year-old linoleum to expose the wood floor you see here, installed sheetrock over the existing plaster-and-lathe walls, textured the ceiling, and completed a mess of little projects in the room that needed doing, then painted the whole thing and finished the floor. (I say &#8220;I&#8221; did these things; actually, I had a lot of help from my dad, The Girlfriend, and a buddy of my dad&#8217;s who does sheetrock for a living.) The room is quite small, so I couldn&#8217;t get a very good angle on the whole space, and, as you can see, I hadn&#8217;t done any decorating yet when this was taken.
