According to Chris Roberson, there’s a meme going around that’s along those lines; it asks you to repost the first sentence of the first blog entry in each of the previous year’s 12 months. Well, I’m always up for a good meme, so here goes:

January: “Morning, everyone.”

February: “I’ve just been reading about the guerilla marketing campaign for Aqua Teen Hunger Force that went horribly wrong yesterday, and I honestly can’t decide who is more foolish: the marketers who didn’t stop to consider the ultra-paranoid times in which we live before they started planting mysterious devices all over urban settings, or the ultra-paranoid public who apparently believe that al-Qaeda has started decorating its bombs with blinking LED cartoon characters.”

March: “Swiss Accidentally Invade Liechtenstein”

April: “That episode of Boston Legal I mentioned a while back aired tonight, the one that was going to incorporate footage from a legal drama William Shatner did 50 years ago.”

May: “Here’s a follow-up to the previous entry, a video that looks like it was originally a news clip. ”

June: “I realized something on Saturday afternoon as I was waxing my car and listening to the radio: ‘I Am the Walrus’ is quite possibly the most aggravating song ever recorded.”

July: “It’s been a crazy couple of days leading into tomorrow’s holiday, and I haven’t been able to come around this place much.”

August: “A few of the things that’ve grabbed my attention in the last couple days:”

September: “Over the past several weeks, several people I care about have experienced problems that have the potential to change their lives.”

October: “Here’s a sad note on which to begin the week: Lois Maxwell, the elegant lady who bantered with three iterations of James Bond over a period of 22 years and 14 films, died over the weekend.”

November: “A mere 48 hours ago, I was holding hands with The Girlfriend and feeling very uncurmudgeonly as we watched Tinkerbell glide down from the Matterhorn amidst a shower of gold and blue fireworks.”

December: “I just learned an interesting factoid: on this date in 1933, my own home state of Utah ratified the 21st Amendment to the Constitution, casting the critical vote that established a three-quarters majority and overturned Prohibition.”

I don’t know that all of that summarizes the past year in any meaningful way, but it does bring back a few memories.
