No? Well, that&#8217;s okay, because I&#8217;ll just remind you of the salient bit, which is the little poem by George Carlin that I ended the entry with:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Here&#8217;s my beard.<br \/>\nAin&#8217;t it wierd?<br \/>\nDon&#8217;t be sceered,<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s just a beard.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Andrew Sullivan, a fellow bearded man, <a href=\"http:\/\/andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com\/the_daily_dish\/2007\/09\/in-defense-of-b.html\">posted<\/a> another poem today that makes essentially the same point, but a little more elegantly:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Abundant hair hangs over my fierce face<br \/>\nand shoulders, shading me, just like a grove;<br \/>\nbut don&#8217;t think me unsightly just because<br \/>\nI am completely covered in dense bristles:<br \/>\nunsightly is the tree that has no leaves,<br \/>\nthe horse without a mane; birds have their plumage<br \/>\nand sheep are most attractive in their wool,<br \/>\nso facial hair and a full body beard<br \/>\nare really most becoming in a man.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">&#8211;Ovid, Metamorphoses, Book XIII (trans.
