So I didn't really know what it was when we were there, but apparently this is the Electoral Palace--considered one of the most beautiful rococo palaces in the world (at least by the Trier tourist council). Maybe we should have tried to get to Trier a little earlier and taken a tour. Europe--so, so many things to see and never enough time...

And that building blocky behind is the Basilica of Trier which was the original throne room of the Roman Emperor when he stayed in Trier. And yes I did know that when we where there!
