How Could This Have Happened?
It occurred to me this morning that Van Halen's immortal hit song "Jump" -- which my Loyal Readers of a certain age will recall was released in 1984 -- is now as old as Chuck Berry's immortal "Johnny B. Goode" was the year "Jump" itself came out.
I don't know about you, but I'm having a hard time with that little factoid. How the hell have we all managed to live so long? I'm going to go lay down and ponder that in a minute, but first...

That dude has no joints below the waist. I wonder how old he was when he first realized that he could no longer do the aerial splits. That will really make you feel old!

Well, according to wikipedia, old Diamond Dave is now 56 years old, so he would've been 30 when this video was filmed. I would imagine he started stiffening up not too long after, say by 35 or 40 tops. And I'm now 41. And I never could do the splits, aerial or otherwise.
Yeah. Old.

Oh, the era where your hair was both a bike helmet and winter hat!

It was a better, more civilized age, Cheno.
